Job Title: Forklift Mechanic (Sit-Down, Reach Truck, and Cherry Picker)
Schedule: Monday - Friday 6am - 2:30pm +OT
Pay Rate: $30/hr
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and cherry pickers to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and cherry pickers.
Perform preventive maintenance and safety checks according to manufacturer and company standards.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and lifting systems.
Replace defective parts such as tires, brakes, hoses, motors, and electrical components.
Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage logs.
Ensure all repairs meet OSHA, manufacturer, and company safety standards.
Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean, safe, and organized.
Provide recommendations to management for major repairs or equipment replacement.
Respond promptly to service calls to minimize downtime.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in mechanics preferred.
2+ years of experience as a forklift mechanic or heavy equipment technician.
Strong knowledge of sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and cherry pickers (Raymond, Crown, Toyota, or similar brands a plus).
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.
Valid driver’s license; forklift certification a plus.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in warehouse or outdoor environments as needed.
Skills:
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.
Good communication and documentation abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Work Environment:
Warehouse and shop environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and moving equipment
