This position opening is to be located at our Greenville, SC location.

The overall duties of a Project Drafter Include:

1. Design and prepare electronic (CAD) working plans, charts, and/or scale drawings for complex projects from observation, measurements, sketches, and specifications
2. Prepare layouts, charts, detailed scale drawings, and material and equipment requirements from sketches, specifications, and standard layouts provided by customers, consultants, and/or departmental contacts
3. Review and manipulate electronic files received from consultants and departmental contacts
4. Coordinate drafting work with engineers and architects
5. Revise computer-aided designs and plans to comply with modified specifications made during actual construction
6. Provide technical guidance and direction to the drafting staff in the interpretation and implementation of specifications and requirements and the procurement and use of CAD files
7. Identify problems or inconsistencies in the plans, data, and specifications
8. Consult with engineers as needed to resolve questions
9. Procure CAD and or Revit files
10. Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations

Characteristics:

1. Minimum two (2) years drafting experience
2. Able to efficiently read blueprints and drawings
3. Able to create detailed electronic (CAD) working plans from data
4. Coordinates drafting work with engineers and architects
5. Follow established technical specifications to prepare drawings
6. Able to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes
7. Values and demonstrates safe working behaviors

Education and Technology:

1. Associate’s Degree in Design, Architecture, or related field with coursework in computer-aided design (CAD)
2. Knowledge of AutoCAD, BeamWiz, TeeWiz, and Revit preferred
