• Job Summary
  
  
  • Responsible for providing support and non-technical patient care within the department of Children's South Surgery and Surgical Services. Assists in the delivery of care to patients under the instruction of the the perioperative nursing team and other licensed personnel as directed. Responsible for organizing and maintaining established PAR levels of supplies. Must have basic computer skills necessary for order entry, retrieval, charge and data entry. Assists the perioperative nurse in implementing and maintaining the appropriate standards of care based on Age Specific Categories recommended by the Medical Executive Committee. Responsible for the collection and processing of patient specimens as assigned. Performs clerical work in support of surgical services and clerical activities as needed. Contributes to the Children's Health System Mission -TO PROVIDE THE FINEST PEDIATRIC HEALTH SERVICES TO ALL CHILDREN IN AN ENVIRONMENT THAT FOSTERS EXCELLENCE IN RESEARCH AND MEDICAL EDUCATION. THE HOSPITAL WILL SERVE AS AN ADVOCATE TO ALL CHILDREN AND WILL WORK TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT ISSUES AFFECTING THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN.
• Education
  
  • High school Education required.
• Experience
  
  • One year patient care experience or EMT certificate, or Nursing Assistant certificate from an accredited nursing assistant program. Pediatric health care experience preferred.
• Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
  
  
  • BLS certification required.
