Min Hourly Rate $14.70 (Standard); $13.70 (Non-Urban); $15.95 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.00 (Standard); $20.50 (Non-Urban); $21.50 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill four part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Program Council Event Assistant for the office of Student Experience/ Engagement Administration at Oregon State University (OSU). OSUPC produces zero/low-cost, social events and activities that build community and create a sense of belonging among OSU students. OSUPC Event Planners serve as members of OSUPC event team to plan and produce an array of diverse, high-quality events to engage students and enhance student life. They work closely with OSUPC professional staff, Lead Event Specials, and the OSUPC Digital Communication Specialist in developing events that create community, make memories and enhance the college experience. For the 2025-26 school year, we are seeking students who will think critically, creatively, and openly in a team-based environment. ELA serves as the hub for student organizations, media, and creative expression. ELA's mission is to provide resources, advising and a platform that helps students of all identities build community, create media, and launch activities that reflect their passions, cultures and lived experiences. ELA comprises Clubs & Orgs, Orange Media Network (OMN), and the OSU Program Council (OSUPC). ELA is a department of the Student Experiences and Engagement organization within the Division of Student Affairs. Position Duties Event Planning & Support (70%) Develop detailed Event Plan for each assigned event, inclusive of planning timeline, event timeline & estimated budget Work with Leads, Promotions and professional staff to create and execute promotional plans Assist with the assessment, evaluation, and wrap-up of OSUPC events, including event reports and recommendations for the future Work with OSU professional staff, community members, outside vendors as needed for events Attend event planning meetings with OSUPC Event Specialist and/or OSUPC Program Advisor Work with Promotions staff to develop event promotional plan Participate in goal setting and implementation Attend and support execution of OSUPC events Serve as the lead event planner for assigned Orange Media Network events, including launch parties Administrative Responsibilities (15%) Assist in setting and accomplishing goals for OSUPC Maintain regular office hours to assist in the facilitation of day-to-day tasks and to facilitate general office duties Attend OSUPC staff and planning meetings and engage in ongoing training, professional development, and community building Support the development & maintenance of educational tools, trainings and tutorials Assist in the attendance and/or ticketing process for events, including sales, deposits, and tracking payments Complete other administrative tasks as needed Other Position Responsibilities (15%) May be asked to serve on a committee or work group within SOA, ELA, or SEE Work to learn, enhance, and promote diversity and social justice Represent OSUPC to OSU and Corvallis community Uphold the values of SOA, ELA, and SEE Participate in signature SEE or ELA-wide events and programming each term Engage in ongoing professional development and community building Staff other ELA events as needed, including OMN Launch Parties and RSO signature events Minimum Qualifications Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found here: Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term* Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term* *International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center. Additional Required Qualifications Experience working collaboratively as a part of a team Ability to organize work, manage time, and follow through on tasks in a self-directed environment Desire or interest in working with a variety of organizations and people from diverse cultures, communication styles, histories, and team structures Strong communication skills, interpersonal and written Preferred (Special) Qualifications Previous experience working for any of the units in SEE Experience engaging traditionally underrepresented social identities (i.e. Race, Gender, Gender Identity, or Ability) Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills Knowledge of or experience with project management Experience in leadership activities, student organizations, community service and/or outreach activities Previous experience working on a committee Experience with Microsoft Office programs Demonstrated knowledge of PC software, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint) and Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere), as well as cloud-based resources like Box, Drive and SharePoint Eligible to return as an OSU student for the 2025-26 academic year (Junior standing or below) Working Conditions / Work Schedule Terms: Term of employment is June 13, 2025, through June 19, 2026; opportunities to work before this date may be available Fall Training (below) required of all staff Expected to work an average of 10-20 hours per week Expected to work frequent evening and weekend hours, as required, to support programming Required to attend weekly staff meetings, supervisory meetings, and committee or work group meetings Pay rate: $15.95/hour starting July 16, 2023 Training Commitment: Fall Training: September 8, 2025 - September 12, 2025 Strongly encouraged to attend other leadership and social justice training opportunities throughout the year Posting Detail Information Posting Number
