Maybe youve just graduated from Journalism school or Media studies.

We are looking for you!

You will write about sports and sports betting in the United States and the World. The range of copy to be written is vast: you should be able to write interesting color pieces about any sports, thoughtful long-form articles about sports betting policy and easy-to-understand instructions for manuals. The job will include a lot of small updates across our sites.

You dont need to have the policy knowledge onboard - you will learn that here. But if you dont like sports, this job is not for you.

We publish content on the web for our sports betting portals. Your role will be to shadow one of our Senior in-house writers and learn their routines so you can substitute for him when he goes on paternity leave. After the paternity leave, you will work under our Senior in-house writers to help them tackle their growing workload.

Our in-house writers can grow into the role of a content manager like our Senior writers have done. They help to manage communications with 10+ freelance writers who contribute for our sites monthly and publish content from them.

Responsibilities

• Write clear news articles and evergreen pages to keep our websites up to date and make them interesting for the readers
• Understand keyword research and use SEO guidelines to increase web traffic
• Prepare well-structured drafts using Content Management Systems (WordPress)
• Proofread and edit blog posts and evergreen pages from other writers before publication
• Coordinate with marketing and design teams to illustrate articles
• Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images and tone)
• Update website content as needed

Requirements and skills

• Portfolio of published articles, schoolwork or articles written for this job application; anything that showcases your best writing skills. (ATTACH 3 SAMPLES INSTEAD OF THE COVER LETTER)
• Excellent writing and editing skills in English
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Journalism, Media studies or related field; OR any equivalent studies at a writing workshop or college
• Ability to meet deadlines
• If you live or are willing to move to Barcelona

This would be a plus

• Experience doing research using multiple sources
• Familiarity with web publications
• Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (WordPress)
• If you also have any knowledge of Spanish, French, and other languages
