Job Description Job Description Inspect, diagnose, repairs, and maintains large construction and industrial machinery. This role ensures equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. Key Responsibilities - Inspect and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems on heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, backhoes, dump trucks, graders). - Repair or replace defective components (engines, transmissions, axles, brakes, hydraulics, cooling systems, electrical wiring, sensors). - Perform preventive maintenance: fluid changes, filter replacements, lubrication, torque checks, and alignment. - Troubleshoot issues using diagnostic tools, schematics, and on-board computer systems. - Conduct routine engine diagnostics, compression testing, and fuel system checks. - Maintain and repair attachments and implements (buckets, rippers, grapples, hammers). - Diagnose and repair hydraulic leaks, pump failures, and hose assemblies. - Replace or repair electrical components, control modules, wiring harnesses, and sensors. - Test run equipment after repairs; adjust and calibrate as needed. - document all work orders, parts used, and time spent; maintain accurate maintenance records. - Adhere to safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA regulations. - Assist with equipment inspections and safety checks for fleet readiness. - Coordinate with supervisors on downtime planning and repair scheduling. - Recommend parts, tools, and service improvements to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
