Job Title: Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic
Location: Based in Conifer, CO
Start Date: ASAP
Employment Type: Full-Time, Field-Based
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (On-Call as Needed)
We are looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to support and maintain our fleet of construction equipment across various job sites. This field-based position requires strong mechanical aptitude, independence, and the ability to travel to remote locations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment and diesel vehicles.
Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, and fleet trucks (3500s, semis, trailers)
Perform preventive maintenance and document service activity using mobile applications
Travel to job sites (e.g., Idaho Springs, South Pueblo, Rocky Ford) for on-site service
Handle welding and fabrication tasks as needed
Manage service vehicle condition and inventory
Procure parts and maintain relationships with vendors (company credit card available after trial period)
Follow all safety protocols and job site procedures
Operate equipment as needed during maintenance or testing
Experience: 5+ years in heavy equipment repair (field service preferred)
Licensing: Valid driver’s license with clean MVR (CDL preferred)
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of diesel systems, hydraulics, electrical, welding, and diagnostic tools
Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb equipment, and work in varying outdoor conditions
Must pass a 10-panel drug screening and pre-employment physical
Strong communication skills and ability to manage a 3–4 day workload independently
Comfortable using tablets and mobile devices for work tracking
