The Nevada Supreme Court’s Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is seeking a Family Court Liaison to strengthen communication, coordination, and collaboration between the AOC and Nevada’s family courts.

This position plays a vital role in supporting family court judges, administrators, legal staff, and community partners to provide a family court system that is effective, accessible, and aligned with best practices. The Family Court Liaison will also contribute to other judicial programs and projects, helping advance the mission of the AOC as an influential and respected voice for Nevada’s judiciary.

At the discretion of the State Court Administrator, the Family Court Liaison may represent Nevada in national programs, initiatives, and conferences related to family law and judicial administration.

This position can be located in Carson City or Las Vegas.

After an initial training period, there may be an opportunity for a hybrid remote/in-office schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Family Court Communication and Coordination

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the AOC and family courts statewide, ensuring consistent and effective communication.
  • Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of family court programs and initiatives.
  • Provide technical assistance on case management, procedures, and best practices.
  • Recommend strategies to improve family court services and enhance access to justice.
  • Coordinate the sharing of resources, information, and case summaries for Nevada’s family bench.

Judicial Program Support and Cross-Program Collaboration

  • Assist with other judicial programs, including those in criminal, civil, or juvenile law.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives involving technology integration, court modernization, and access to justice.
  • Provide backup support to AOC programs during peak workloads.

Representation and National Engagement

  • Represent Nevada at national family law programs, conferences, and initiatives.
  • Monitor and share national trends and best practices in family law and court administration.
  • Promote collaboration and innovation within Nevada’s family court system.

Training and Professional Development

  • Develop and deliver training for judges and court staff on emerging issues, policies, and best practices.
  • Maintain an online library of on-demand training resources for the family bench.
  • Encourage continuous professional development for court personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of family law, family court procedures, and relevant state and federal policies.
  • Familiarity with court administration, case management systems, and judicial processes.
  • Prior experience in family law, court administration, or related judicial systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with court personnel, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to various family court locations within Nevada and participate in national conferences or initiatives as needed.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a solution-oriented environment.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a high level of integrity.
  • Experience representing an organization or state in national forums, working groups, or policy discussions is a plus.

Effectively works remotely and collaborates with employees from a remote location, as needed. Must have expertise in virtual meeting platforms, such as Teams. Must have the ability to work remotely via an internet network connection provided by the employee. This connection speed must be sufficient to perform all duties. A minimum of 50-100 mb download speeds are required. Higher connection speed may be required if sharing this connection with other members in an employee’s household.
