Job Description

International SOS is seeking a licensed Dentist to provide services for DOS, DOD, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq. The candidate will assess, diagnose, and treat various dental conditions, educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care, and ensure effective, compliant care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive dental examinations and assessments.
  2. Diagnose and treat dental conditions, diseases, and injuries.
  3. Perform dental procedures.
  4. Provide emergency dental care such as recementing crowns, extractions, or root canals.
  5. Develop and discuss treatment plans tailored to patients needs.
  6. Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive dental practices.
  7. Maintain accurate patient records.
  8. Collaborate with dental staff to ensure quality care.
  9. Stay updated with new dental techniques and advancements.
  10. Follow all safety protocols and regulations.
  11. Participate in community outreach and oral health awareness activities.

Qualifications

Experience Required:

  • Passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) administered by the JCNDE.
  • Unrestricted dental license in a U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.
  • 3-5 years of general dentistry experience, including 6 months within the last year.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
  • Experience on military sites as a government subcontractor or prime contractor (preferred).
  • Experience working OCONUS (preferred).
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Education:

  • Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from an ADA or CODA-accredited school.

Physical Requirements:

  • Meet pre-deployment physical requirements.
  • Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods.
  • May need to bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Other Qualifications:

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Valid US Passport with at least 18 months remaining.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government security clearance (e.g., MRPT).
  • Willing to relocate to Iraq for the project duration.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
