This position is at our Magnus Inc location where we have been the leading manufacturer of traction motor support bearings for the railroad industry. Since 1885, we have served locomotive manufacturers and repair shops with axle thrust bearings, locomotive journal bearings, thrust washers and other special bearings in high-leaded bronze. We supply customers across the globe from our plant and offices in Fremont, Nebraska. The CNC Machine Operator machines parts in a production setting using a combination of CNC Mills, Lathes, Manual Machines, and hand tools to produce high quality parts to be used in the Railroad industry.

Responsibilities / Job Duties:

  • Setup, adjust, and operate CNC Mills and Lathes. Setup, adjust and operate conventional and/or special purpose machine tools.
  • Use a wide range of precision measuring instruments and devices like, scales, calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc., to setup and operate machine and check work.
  • Work from drawings, specifications, instructions, blueprints, sketches, manuals, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Check work to assure dimensional conformance.
  • Will periodically perform maintenance and preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • Proceed with minimum supervision, instructions and guidance provided on setup and operating difficulties when required. Work is subject to final inspection and check.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of CNC lathe or mill experience is required.
  • Experience with machine setups, tooling, and edits are preferred.
  • Basic math and computer skills are necessary.

Open Schedule(s):

  • 1st shift working 4 10s: Monday – Thursday, 6am-4:30pm.

Pay: $23 - 25 per hour
