Supplier Technical Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Supplier Technical Engineer to join the Investment Castings Team supporting components for the exterior of gas turbine engines. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of purchased parts throughout the product lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical issues, drive continuous improvement, and uphold quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Oversight: Manage technical aspects of purchased parts from concept through production, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
2. Supplier Engagement: Collaborate with suppliers to resolve complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
3. Quality Improvement: Partner with Sourcing Specialists and Buyers to enhance supplier performance and reliability.
4. Process Leadership: Lead Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities and contribute to design and process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with at least 3 years of experience.
• Strong background in supplier quality resolution using Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineering/Manufacturing Expertise: Experience with machining, forging, and assembly processes.
• Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of engineering practices, process planning, drawing interpretation, tooling, non-destructive testing (NDT), functional testing, metallurgy, and product design.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and statistical analysis capabilities.
• Collaboration & Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and build consensus.
• Lean & Six Sigma: Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma tools.
• Project & Quality Management: Experience managing supplier qualification and improvement projects, with knowledge of quality management systems and supplier selection processes.
